Support for Ta’dib Institute Initiative | Prof Dr Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud
Holder of the Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas Chair of Islamic Thought, RZS-CASIS.
We are living in an age characterised by rapid change. Sophistication in the use of technology and the intricacies of the sciences for example resulted in ever shifting grounds in thought, values, culture, and more fundamentally worldview. While there are merits and advantages to this, any form of rapid change if left vague in our understanding without any consolidation and clear articulation of what it entails would leave many of us confused resulting in intellectual and cultural dissonance which is a breeding ground for extremism in its various forms.
Ta’dib International Foundation has for the past decade supported scholars and students in various initiatives and programs that initiate and encourage a high level discourse in the articulation of the worldview of Islam and its practical implications. This has resulted in the establishment of various small organisations offering a variety of programs and services as well as publications, most notably the Worldview of Islam Series (WISE) and publications by Ta’dib international, RZS-CASIS-HAKIM, Futuwwah, and Akademi Jawi Malaysia, to name a few.
The time has come for these initiatives to be consolidated under a unifying entity in the form of a centre of research and higher learning that is community owned and financially independent. With this intention and vision, Ta’dib International Foundation is raising initial funds for the establishment of Ta’dib Institute.
At this stage, the contributions will go towards forming a company limited by guarantee as well as to lease and purchase basic facilities for its initial operations. You may generously channel your contributions here.
Your contributions will go a long way in ensuring positive development of the intellectual tradition of Islam in this region as well as the world, in sha’ Allah. Thank you and May Allah s.w.t. reward you immensely and protect all of us in His Mercy and Generosity. Aamiin.
