Haji Shaharool Nizam bin Mohd Kassim
Graduated with LL.B (Hons) in 1996 from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Shaharool was called to the Malaysian Bar in early 1997. In 2000, he completed and obtained a Diploma in Syariah Legal Practice (DSLP) from the same alma mater. He joined Messrs Wong Lu Peen & Tunku Alina in June 1996 to undertake his pupilage under the supervision of Tunku Alina Raja Muhd Alias. Subsequent to a comprehensive training during his pupillage-in-chambers, upon being called to the Bar, he established his own legal firm in the name and style of Messrs Shaharool Nizam & Co in June 1997.
Haji Shaharool’s business endeavour is impressive. He was a key member of the prestigious RM2.5 billion KLCC extension development project, comprising office, hotel and retail space, undertaken as a joint venture between KLCC (Holdings) Sdn. Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS, and QD Asia Pacific Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Qatari real estate entity, Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Co, the property arm of Qatari Investment Authority (QIA). He was part of the project team members for the 18.2 hectares international luxury resort, Movenpick Hotels and Resorts, in Chendering, Kuala Terengganu, another joint-venture project between the Malaysian owned, Success Circle Sdn Bhd and QD Asia Pacific Ltd.
He was also the Director of another joint-venture entity, Cititower Sdn. Bhd. and Aliran Moden Sdn. Bhd, for and on behalf of the foreign joint-venture partner, QD Asia Pacific Ltd in the KLCC project; a Director of yet another joint-venture entity, Success Diar Sdn Bhd, for and on behalf of the foreign joint-venture partner, QD Asia Pacific Ltd in the Movenpick Resort project; and a member of the Project Committee and also the Tender Committee member for both the KLCC and Movenpick Resort projects. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Primadata Holdings (M) Sdn. Bhd, the prime distributor for the eastern region of Celcom’s pre-paid telecommunication products; and also the Executive Chairman of Massive Benchmark Sdn Bhd, an international business advisory and consultancy firm.
